Why are Rainforests important? Why are they valued?

Global Warming

When we are cutting down the trees (deforestation) we are making holes in the ozone layer which causes the ozone layer to heat up. Then therefore the ice melts and the water rises. If that happens then that will cause the floods like in Queensland and Japan.

We DO NOT want this to happen because then all our beautiful countries and houses will be destroyed and that will be very sad for those who it does happen to. What the message is that we should put our rubbish in the bins and not put them in the nearest bush.

We want God to know that we have cared for our world like he wanted us to, not ruin it with all the rubbish floating in the water and floating in the air. When we walk past rubbish we should always pick it up because if we don't the ice will start to melt and then the water will rise.

What Organistations protect the Rainforest

What Organisations protect the Rainforest

One of the organisations that protects the Rainforest is The Wilderness Society. This organisation protects the rainforest by protecting all living in the Rainforest like:
  • Animals
  • Plants
  • Trees
  • Insects

Global warming is already happening, but how bad it gets is entirely up to us. The Wilderness Society is addressing global warming by..

If global warming starts, it would be all hot and sticky and the rainforest needs cold weather not hot. Without the cold weather the rainforests won't be able to live.

Why are Rainforests Important?

Why are Rainforests Important?

Rainforests are importabt because the trees provide oxygen. Without oxygen we won't be alble to breathe and we would die.
Rainforests are a home to different species of animals. If we cut down there homes they won't have anywhere else to live and will become extinct.
Why should we cut down trees that contain ingrediants for foods such as:
  •  Coco Bean
  • Bananas
  • Cherries
and other sorts of fruit and ingrediants, without ingrediants like these we won't be able to eat the food that they produce.
Also a Rainforest is a beautiful space full of trees, plants, flowers and animals. If we don't a Rainforest for these things they won't have home and go extinct.

Where are Rainforests found in the world?

Where are Rainforests found in the world?

There are ALOT of Rainforests around the world. On the right there is a movie about where the Rainforests are around the world. This is where some of them are:
  • The Amazon Rainforest is found in South America
  • The Oylmpic Rainforest is found in North America
  • The Madagascar Rainforest is found in Madagascar
Here is a picture of the Amazon Rainforest

What plants live in the rainforest?

What Plants live in the Rainforests?

There are a lot of different plants in a Rainforest. Another word for plants is Flora. There are four main species of plants these are:
  • Mosses
  • Ferns
  • Conifers
  • Flowering Plants
These are the four main plants in a Rainforest. A rainforest produces quite a lot of these plants.

What animals live in the rainforest?

What animals live in the rainforest? Which layer of the rainforest do they live in? Select one rainforest animal, find a picture of it to include in your report, and describe its habitat.
There are alot of animals in a rainforest some are:
  • Snakes- Forest Floor
  • Frogs- Forest Floor
  • Birds- Understory Layer and Forest Floor
  • Insects- Forest Floor
Frogs live on the Forest Floor in the water or land. Frogs are amphibians which means they live on Land and in Water. They eat Flys and Insects and  they use their tounges to make a quick move to eat the flys. I found out that if you touch a Frog with dry hands it's like a chinese burn for them. When frogs are born they don't look like frogs, they are tadpoles. During a Tadpoles life they change quite a lot.

Describe the layers in a Rainforest?

Describe the layers in a Rainforest?

In the Rainforest there are four layers:
  1. Forest Floor Layer
  2. Understory Layer
  3. Canopy Layer
  4. Emergant Layer
Firstly the Forest Floor has all these insects and plants growing on it
Secondly the Understory Layer has all these tree trunks and birds and vines
Thirdly the Canopy Layer is where all these tree are covering the Forest Floor, the Canopy makes the Rainforest shady
Lastly the Emergent Layer is he top off the whole thing its the outside with all the birds flying everywhere. The Emergant layer is brighter because there is nothing covering it.
